PD Repository Question - Is it mandatory that every user who connects to repository should know the schema user and password where the repository is housed?

Hi

Right now, the way our repository is setup ( in oracle), every user who would like to connect to the repository to access the models, would need to know the schema user and password in order to setup a ODBC connection to the repository.

Is there any way for users to connect to the repository without this information being explicitly provided to them, they should be automatically connected to the repository by simply providing their PD Repository username and password?

We are trying to move this repository to a more controlled oracle environment and the DBAs are not willing to make repository schema password made available to all the users, as they fear people can directly login to the schema using toad or sqlplus and may accidentally tamper the database tables.

Any help would be appreciated.
