Not sure if this part of the forum is most suited, but since it is in the area between BW and HANA I'm posting it here.
We are currently working on rebuilding SAP BW flows in HANA using HANA Live as starting point.
However, we are struggling with some aspects.
The BW flows include custom mappings, or 'complex' lookups of different tables, using IF statements that continue data lookup if not found in the first table by reading additional tables. To some extent we manage to recreate the mappings or lookups using joins, but in some other cases it is less obvious.
Also in terms of performance, we notice that the HANA flows are starting to perform worse compared to the BW models. This seems to be caused by currency translations and multiple join operations (lookup master data and e.g. additional partner functions).
Could you share your views on the approach when rebuilding BW flows in HANA, especially related to more complex transformations/mappings/lookup logic that is performed in BW?
