Our company recently changed POS/scheduling applications, and we've gone from an automated CR generation system to a complete manual process in creating reports. Our main issue revolves around the data we need, it's only available for export via CSV, or XLSX. We have a couple vital fields in our export that contain more than 255 characters, and suddenly the "can grow" function doesn't seem to work any longer with the CSV's I've been pulling. I find myself losing mappings as well when I verify the database with a new CSV with the exact same field headers, causing headaches and lost data.
My question is, will attempting to move to an XLS ODBC connection make this easier on me? Or am I destined to fight with this daily? Anyone have experience in this?
While trying to work on this I've been badgering the new software provider to give us better data to use, or a direct back end connection to the SQL in the cloud.
